Operation and Maintenance of the Thessaloniki Metro Network

The Board of Directors of ELLINIKO METRO S.A. reached the unanimous resolution to award the International Tender based on the Open Procedure for the Conclusion of a PPP Contract concerning the Operation and Maintenance of Thessaloniki Metro Network to “THEMA Consortium – ATM S.p.A. – Egis Projects S.A.S. companies” against the offered overall price of two hundred forty nine million nine thousand thirty hundred three hundred and two EURO (249,930,302€), in net present value terms, and for a period of eleven (11) calendar years.

The scope of the Tender is the operation of the Thessaloniki Metro in two stages:

The first stage includes the operation of the Base Line, which starts from the northwest side of the city in the NEW RAILWAY STATION, located in front of OSE (Hellenic Railways Organization), continues up to NEA ELVETIA terminal station at the southeastern side of the city, and terminates in Pylea Depot. The line follows mainly Monastiriou, Egnatia, KonstantinouKaramanli, Delfon and Solonos Streets.

TheBaseLinecomprisestwosingle-tracktunnels and 13 stations.

Thessaloniki Metro Base Project Stations are: NEW RAILWAY STATION, DIMOKRATIAS, VENIZELOU, AGIAS SOFIAS, SINTRIVANI, PANEPISTIMIO, PAPAFI, EFKLIDIS, FLEMING, ANALIPSI, 25 MARTIOU, VOULGARI, NEA ELVETIA.

The second stage includes the operation of the extension to Kalamaria. Thessaloniki Metro extension to Kalamaria includesthe following stations: NOMARCHIA, KALAMARIA, ARETSOU, NEA KRINI, MIKRA.

The scope of works includes the daily operation and maintenance of the facilities, systems and rolling stock, cleaning services, security services (safety – protection), the management of the Automatic Fare Collection system, as well as the installation and operation of the IT-ERP system to support the administrative operation of Thessaloniki Metro.

When fully developed, the system will be able to serve 18,000 passengersperhourandperdirection by 33 automatictrains passing through stations every 90 seconds(oneandahalfminute).
