On Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 15:00h., the Thessaloniki Metro branch to Kalamaria will be released to revenue service; the five new stations, namely Nomarchia, Kalamaria, Aretsou, Nea Krini and Mikra will become available to passengers.
Upon the integration of Kalamaria branch into the network, the Thessaloniki Metro System will resume its normal service hours. As of Thursday, August 27, the revenue service will be configured as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 05:15 a.m.–12:30 a.m.
Friday and Saturday: 05:15 a.m.– 02:00 a.m.
Sunday: 05:15 a.m.– 12:30 a.m.
The aforementioned service hours concern the first and last train departures from the terminal stations of the Line, namely New Railway Station, Nea Elvetia and Mikra.
Kindly be advised that, especially on Friday 04/09, Saturday 05/09, as well as Friday 11/09 and Saturday 12/09, the Thessaloniki Metro network is scheduled to operate on a 24-hour basis, in view of providing the best services to passengers and visitors of the Thessaloniki International Fair.
Upon the revenue service release of Kalamaria branch, the Thessaloniki Metro is further enhancing the city’s public transportation network, offering passengers more options for fast, safe, and reliable travels throughout the metropolitan area.
