Conclusion of the Contract for the provision of Technical Consulting Services for the Metro Projects in Attica Region and the Athens Metro New Line 4 – Section A’ “Alsos Veikou – Goudi”
The Contract for the provision of technical consulting services with the contracting consortium Hill International – ΝΑΜΑ Consulting Engineers and Planners – Concept Consulting Engineers was signed today at ATTIKO METRO S.A. premises; the subject contract concerns the Construction of the New Line 4 of Athens Metro – Section A’ – Alsos Veikou – Goudi and the future extensions, its overall budget amounts to EURO 18,922,100.00 plus VAT and its duration is set to 60 months.
The contract will be financed by the Operational Program “Infrastructure, Transport, Environment and Sustainable Development” – NSRF 2014 – 2020, by NSRF 2021-2027 resources and the Public Investment Program.
It is stressed that in the framework of the contract, the contracting consortium is anticipated to provide consulting services for the design, construction and commissioning related to the implementation of the construction of the Athens Metro New Line 4 – Section A’ “Alsos Veikou – Goudi“ Project, to participate in the extension of Metro Line 3 “Aghia Marina – Dimotiko Theatro”, which is under construction, and to offer its assistance in the planning and evolution of the future extensions of the Metro and Tramway projects in the wider Attica and Piraeus Regions.
The contracting consortium will participate in every single activity (design, tendering process, construction, testing and commissioning) required in the framework of the technical scope of ATTIKO METRO S.A projects under construction and new projects to verify their successful completion. Also, the contracting consortium will provide specialized technical solutions, information, and optimization recommendations based on the evolution of technology, support to resolve design issues, and supervision management.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, ATTIKO METRO S.A. is planning an ambitious Extensions Program for the Athens Metro including the Extensions of Line 4 to Maroussi, Dafni and Petroupoli, of Line 2 to Ilion and Glyfada and of the new branch of Line 1 to Kallithea and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, aiming mainly at further reducing the traffic congestion problem and improving at the same time the quality of travels in a reliable, rapid, safe and aesthetically upgraded manner for the residents and visitors of Athens.
