Interim Expert Reports compiled by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE)
Line 4 – Section A’
The first interim expert reports compiled by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) concerning 14 buildings in the area of Kypseli have been delivered to ELLINIKO METRO S.A.
The assistance of TEE was requested to obtain, from the State’s technical advisor, an independent assessment concerning the condition of the structures, the recorded damage and the impact of Line 4 tunnel excavation works, as well as to determine the necessary interventions and any additional inspections.
The reports take into account the bearing capacity that existed prior to the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) drive. Indeed, the planned restoration operations aim, as a minimum, at safeguarding the subject bearing capacity by evaluating damage recorded due to settlements and recommending the required interventions and additional inspections, on a per case basis.
ELLINIKO METRO S.A. is evaluating the findings and recommendations of the interim reports, so that the Project Contractor may perform the restoration operations required, in accordance with the construction contract concerning Line 4, while simultaneously providing full and relevant information to the building owners and tenants.
In compliance with its commitment, ELLINIKO METRO S.A. will inform the interested parties about the prerequisites and the pertinent methodology prior to the resumption of tunnel excavation works. The Company addresses the matter responsibly and with respect for the residents, maintaining safety as its constant priority.
