The following traffic arrangements are put into effect on Thursday July 5th 2018, at SINTRIVANI Station \u2013 Thessaloniki Metro:<\/p>\n

1. The occupied worksite area on the eastbound traffic lane of Egnatia street (between Aggelaki street and the School of Theology \u2013 Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) is released. Thus, Egnatia street will now have three eastbound traffic lanes.<\/p>\n

2. The following are configured:<\/p>\n

A. Triangular traffic island, at the intersection of Egnatia and Aggelaki streets.
\nB. Two (2)m-wide sidewalk, to the south of Egnatia street, along the worksite occupation.<\/p>\n

The Chairman of ATTIKO METRO S.A., Prof. Yannis A. Mylopoulos, made the following statement:<\/p>\n

\u201cIn consistence with the Time Schedule of ATTIKO METRO S.A. about the gradual reduction and eventual removal of worksite fences from the streets of Thessaloniki, on Thursday July 5th 2018 one more eastbound lane of Egnatias street, in the area of Sintrivani square – Thessaloniki International Fair, opens to traffic.
\nThis happens just one week after the traffic returned to normal on Monastiriou street in the area of Dimokratias square, and just a few months after the reinstatement of Delfon street, at its intersection with Analipseos street, which was fully released for vehicle circulation after nine years; next was Monastiriou street in the area of the New Railway Station and, subsequently, Karamanli Ave., in the area of PAPAFI Station.
\nThe Thessaloniki Metro network has been put back on track and steadily draws nearer to its completion and commissioning in 2020. The removal of the fences at the Metro worksites and the gradual return of life in the city of Thessaloniki to normal come as a concrete result of the great progress that has been made in the period from 2016 until today\u201d.<\/p>\n
