The initial plan was to construct KERAMIKOS Metro Station in the subject land plot; however, due to problems related to the routing of the alignment of the line underneath Keramikos archaeological site, the construction of the Metro Station was abandoned, even though the relevant excavation works had already been executed. The Ministry of Infrastructures, Transport and Networks decided to utilize the existing excavation and, thus, constructed an underground 5-storey parking facility of a total capacity of 270 spaces.
