In view of reinstating the traffic at Vouliagmenis Avenue, at the location of Aghios Vassilios Shaft (i.e. the worksite used for the removal of the “Tunnel Boring Machine” from the Project area), the following traffic arrangements were deemed necessary:
As of tomorrow (Tuesday 24th of August 2010), the width of the road pavement of Vouliagmenis Avenue will be gradually limited to 6 meters, at the section extending between the following streets:
Tzavela and Aghiou Vassiliou streets (outbound to Glyfada)
Pantazi and Aghiou Vassiliou streets (inbound to Athens centre).
During the next phase of works, i.e. by the end of this week and only during night hours (from 22:00 to 06:00), the following traffic arrangements will be implemented:
The traffic lanes of Vouliagmenis Avenue will be reduced from three to two (inbound to Athens centre), at the section extending between Gymnastiriou and Orfeos streets (worksite occupation of the right traffic lane),
At the section extending between Orfeos and Mykonou streets, the street pavement will be occupied on both sides of the central island, while the width of Vouliagmenis Avenue will be temporarily reduced to 4 meters.
The aforementioned works are expected to be completed in September.
