Located at the junction of Pireos and Iera odos Streets, this car parking facility is situated approximately 300m away from KERAMIKOS Metro Station on a land plot owned by the Municipality of Athens. The initial plan was to construct KERAMIKOS Metro Station in the subject land plot; however, due to problems related to the routing of the alignment of the line underneath Keramikos archaeological site, the construction of the Metro Station was abandoned, even though the relevant excavation works had already been executed. The Ministry of Infrastructures, Transport and Networks decided to utilize the existing excavation and, thus, constructed an underground 5-storey parking facility of a total capacity of 270 spaces. In the framework of the project, street-level redevelopment works occupying an area of approximately 9,000 square meters were executed, while the park that was created was delivered to the Municipality of Athens.
The car parking facility is currently in operation.
